Our Team

Louise Stubbs

“As the Head of Farm Services, my main responsibilities are to create our care programmes in partnership with commissioners and stakeholders, completing assessments and monitoring outcomes. I am very proud of our development frameworks and the refined quality of the work that is delivered by the team both on our farm and out in the community.

I am also jointly responsible, alongside Barry, in the development of the farm environment as an accessible platform for the exploration of outcomes related to independence, well-being and work skills in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way.

Christy Sephton

“As a project leader, I am responsible for conceptualizing and delivering projects for individuals and groups, catering to the diverse needs of both adults and children. I specialise in animal care and lead the enhanced animal care projects on our Skills For Independence programme.

I observe that the act of nurturing another living being fosters qualities of empathy, compassion, and patience, while also providing our clients with an opportunity to apply these principles to their own self-care with more independence. Engaging with nature and spending time at the farm clearly facilitates the cultivation of positive mental well-being and enhanced self-assurance. Our unique setting offers a stress-free environment, allowing clients freedom to proceed at their own pace.

I have always had a passion for helping people, starting from my days at school. Coupled with my love for animals, I have found the perfect opportunity here at SweetTree to make a difference to someone’s life. I am privileged to be able to work with the people that we do and have learned so much from working alongside our clients.”

Thomas Greenan

“I am a project leader at Sweettree Fields Farm. I develop projects that the clients will work on throughout the year, deliver these sessions, support the clients as they learn new skills and gain independence, and record their progress using our monitoring tools.

My specialist area is horticulture - we focus on growing fruit and vegetables that the clients can take home and use in their own cooking. We also focus on growing sustainably by making our own compost from waste plants, making fertiliser from plants found on the farm like stinging nettles and borage, and adding mulch to plants to help the soil reduce water wastage. We build what we can ourselves - such as using woodwork tools to make raised beds and trellises.

Working in the gardens develops many skills - teamwork, communication, fine and gross motor skills, independence, patience, and a respect for living things. It can also provide good exercise and time for calm and peaceful relaxation in nature. I feel very privileged to be able to work in such a setting and share these benefits with our clients.”

Chloe McTeare

“I am a Project Leader and School Co-ordinator at the farm. I lead the Environment and Wildlife sessions on Tuesdays with our clients. I also work with SEND shools to encourage young people to use nature as an every day tool for activities and to improve mental health and well-being.

I’ve worked a lot of different jobs trying to find my passion. I’ve worked at a children’s farm and then went into the care industry. I applied for the position at SweetTree when it was advertised and it’s a perfect combination of the two!

My favourite thing about SweetTree is the people. The farm itself is such a fantastic place, but the staff and clients make it what it is. It’s such a privilege to work alongside the people I do who make every day exciting.”

Connor Harrison

“I am the Farm Worker at SweetTree Farm. My role here is predominantly the maintenance of the site, as well as the livestock management and welfare.

The best thing about SweetTree is the relaxing atmosphere that we get here.”
